The characters, in order of appearance:

Morfindel (MOR-fin-dell) was born in 508*. She does not know exactly who her parents are, but knows one of her parents was a sibling to Belegond, Belegorn’s father. She was raised by Belegond and Eleniel in Nentathar. She married Adurant in 527 and works with him in their tavern.

Hadhod (HATH-od) is the religious leader in Nentathar. He has a daughter named Aranna.

Belegorn (BELL-uh-gorn)was born in 513, twenty years before the beginning of The House, to Belegond and Eleniel.

Ramar (ruh-MAR) is Belegorn’s best friend, but tends to pick on Belegorn more often than not. When he and Belegorn were nine years old Ramar dared Belegorn to go into the forest, but Belegorn got scared and ran.

Aranna (uh-RAHN-uh) is the daughter of Hadhod. She was born in 515, but has not been seen since she was about eight years old.

Yanta (YAHN-tuh) was born in Rhundor, the capital of the Eastern region, in 274. Her companion is a black cat named Rana (RAHN-uh), and she has a knack for building things.

Sikke (SEEK) ran away from home years before he met Yanta. No one is really sure how old he is or where he originally came from. Some think that even he forgot his origins. He now wanders from place to place, but is often found in Rhundor with Yanta and Rana.

*The years are counted by how long ago Dor Lorelin, the capitol of Aglarnen, was established, making Aglarnen an official country. When it says Belegorn was born in 513, it means he was born 513 years after Aglarnen became a country.
