Aglarnen (AG-ler-nen) is a large valley that lies in the shadow of Ared En-Dinenien, an icy mountain range. It is roughly six hundred miles at it’s widest from north to south and five hundred miles east to west. In the center of the valley is a dense forest. Aglarnen is split into four regions: the North, South, East, and West. Each region largely governs itself but share the same currency and basic laws.

Northern Region

Mantathar (MAN-tuh-thar) is the capitol of the Northern region of the valley. It is a bustling city that is located about seven miles from the edge of the forest. The River Siranim runs through Mantathar and feeds the Mantatharin Canal, which flows around the edge of the forest and provides a quick way for Mantatharin goods to travel elsewhere, and empties out into the Lorelin Bay just south of Dor Lorelin, the capitol of Aglarnen. Mantathar is known for its use of riverboats.

Nentathar (NEN-tuh-thar) is located about fifteen miles north of Mantathar. Nentathar, despite being the third largest city in the Northern region, after Mantathar and Rielost, has no defined government. It is mainly led by the Adani, the religious leader, whose job, besides his religious duty, is just to supervise town meeings where the townspeople of Nentathar make decisions or solve issues.

Southern Region

Dor Lorelin (dor LOR-uh-lin) is the capital of the Southern region as well as the capital of Aglarnen. It is ruled by Arankano, the great-grandson of Ohtariel, the “Maiden Warrior” and queen who fought off invaders from north of Ared En-Dinenien. Dor Lorelin lies on the edge of the Lorelin Bay, which leads into the ocean. It is also the main trading center of Aglarnen.

Kemad (keh-MAHD) is considered to be under the rule of Dor Lorelin, but Arankano could not care less about the future of this “city of savages.” Five hundred and fifty years before Belegorn and Morfindel took on their perilous journey into the forest, settlers from north of Ared En-Dinenien herded the natives of Aglarnen into the southernmost corner of the valley. The tribes who fought back were rounded up and deposited onto a little piece of land surrounded on three sides by the forest. They named it Kemad and have been ruled by the king Neldor and his ancestors ever since.

Eastern Region

Rhundor (ROON-dor) is the capitol of the Eastern region.
